Its Strategic Plan for fiscal years 2014?2018 targets misuse of federal healthcare funds on multiple fronts, including investigation of fraud, accountability of Medicare abusers, reclamation of misspent funds, and promotion of financial stewardship.
The Medicare Payment Advisory Commission (MedPAC) has released its March 2014 Report to the Congress: Medicare Payment Policy. MedPAC is an independent congressional agency that advises Congress on issues affecting the Medicare program. The March report includes MedPAC's analyses of payment adequacy in fee-for-service (FFS), Medicare, and Medicare Advantage (MA), as well as providing information on the Part D prescription drug benefit.
